physical education Curriculum Overview

In P.E. at St. Pius X, we focus on sportsmanship and kindness while working on spatial awareness and motor development. In kindergarten to second grade, we focus more on spatial awareness and developing basic motor skills. During third through fifth grade, we focus on developing sports-based motor skills and understanding the whole person. Sixth through eighth grade focuses more on sport-based motor development and sportsmanship during game play. The goal of the P.E. program at St. Pius X is to understand and recognize that a healthy lifestyle promotes overall health and peace of spirit.

What inspires you to teach?:
I love to see kids understanding how to be healthy and learning new activities. When I reach that student that is not normally athletic or does not enjoy physical activity it reminds me shy I wanted to teach.
